• You must have a passport – most countries recommend the validity to be six months beyond your return date.

• Photocopy your passport and credit cards.

• Research the laws and travel advisories of the country you are visiting.

• Register with the government of Canada’s Registration of Canadians Abroad.

• Be flexible, delays can happen.

• Always buy travel insurance.

• Put all important things in your carry on including electronics, medications, and an extra pair of clothes.

• Let someone at home know your travel plans, especially is you are travelling by yourself.

• Don’t keep all of your cash and cards in one place.

• Check into recommended/required immunizations.

• Take an empty water bottle through security and fill up with water on the other side.

• Reconfirm flight times prior to departure.
